V March 18.—Comerang, p.s., Captain Chrisp, from Napier. Passengers:—Colonel Gorton, Mr. Breingan. The Dakotah passed on Monday night about 7 o’clock on her road to Auckland. The Rangatira is detained at Napier owing to a heavy sea swell on the bar. The Comerang, drawing less water, dashed through the breakers, with everything battened down. She brings 1,150 sheep, which were duly inspected and landed yesterday morning. Vessels to leave London :—-Parsee, January 8, with 80 immigrants for Auckland ; Edwin Fox, 25th January, for Canterbury, with 200 immigrants for Canterbury, and 250 for Otago. The Wild Dunk was also to sail for Nelson op the ' 29 th January, with 150 immigrants for Nelson and Wellington. The following letter with reference to Webb’s line has been received by the local agents for the Californian vessels from Messrs.,Henderson and M‘Earlane, the agents in Auckland: — “ Auckland, March 5, 1873. " Messrs. Routledge, Kennedy & Co., Napier. “Dear 3ir»,—rWs beg to advise arriyal of bearer at this port from Honolulu yesterday morning, after a fair passage of 16 days. She does hot Vring any news of importance, save that the question of the American subsidy to Webb’s line has again beep postponed for another month. The opponehts of the line say that 41 is absolutely shelved, but Webb telegraphs that he has still strong hopes of obtaining it this session.
