REGISTRATION AND COMPENSATION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STANDARD. Sir,—As the time is approaching when we shall have an opportunity of making ourselves heard in the cause of Compensation, I would beg to suggest that you should urge on your readers the necessity of registering their votes without delay, by which means we may enlist some more strength into our cause, by only voting for those pledged to support us in this matter. There seems to be a great amount of apathy in regard to registration - in this district; whether it is that the settlers do not know the proper routine to go through, or, that there is no Registration Officer here; perhaps you would enlighten the uninitiated through your valuable columns. —I am, &c., ' W. S. GREENE. March 3, 1873.
