Last evening we received intelligence at T&W Bay, announcing the of the cutter Margaret, timber-laden, bound for Napier from Auckland; ie kiss of two lives. It appears from the description given by. the twoi survivors, that the schooner*foundered a short distance frorii the Bay* probably while trying tp make this Port during the fearful storm oA.Tuesdapijighti' ZDhe Margaret was a well-known boat, having traded for some years on the I Coast. As. the Tawera did jiot get away until shortly before the gale began, it is feared she had the: full brunt of. it. Captain Kennedy stood well out to sea, which in the case of a head wjnd, would give him a chance of stretching past the Cape.
