POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB.

A meeting of the Poverty Bay Turf Club was held at the Albion Hotel on Saturday, November 2nd. 1. Proposed by Mr. J. W. Johnson, “That a Turf Club committee be formed to consist of Messrs. Poynter, Goldsmith, Davis, Major Pitt, Tucker, Hall, and the mover” seconded by Sergeant Major Bennett and carried. 2. Proposed by Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Johnson, “That Mr. Hall be Secretary and Treasurer to the Club carried unanimously. 3. Proposed by Mr. Johnson, “ That there shall be two days’ racing, 22nd and 23rd January 1873,” seconded by Major Pitt, carried nem. con 4. Proposed by Mr. Poynter “That the committee shall meet next Thursday at 4 p.m. and submit programme to the Club at a meeting on Thursday evening,” seconded by Mr. Hall, and carried. 5. Proposed by Mr. Hall, seconded by Mr. Davis, “ That we run according to the Auckland Jockey Club rules.” Proposed by Mr, Caulton, seconded by Mr. Poynter, “That we use the Napier Jockey Club rules.” Proposed by Sergeant Major Bennett, seconded by Major Pitt “ That the committee shall at next meeting of the Club recommend the set of rules they prefer,” carried. Meeting adjourned to Thursday next 7p.m. W. H. Tucker Chairman.
