QISB O R N E SCHOO L, Funds are urgently needed for the purpose of lining the School-room, of fencing the school reserve, and of erecting a dwelling for the school-master. It is estimated that these works will cost at least £3OO. The Board of Education has expressed a willingness to assist local efforts; but a statement of the amount raised in the district, toward the proposed object, must accompany the application. The committee, therefore, make this appeal to the inhabitants of the district, to make a strenuous and united effort, to raise a good portion at least of the sum required, in order that an application for assistance may be made to the Board, as soon as possible. Sealed Tenders will be received until 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 25th inst., for the following Works :—viz : Contract G.—l2 chains fascining, and the erection of two Culverts on main road, between Oweta and Karawa creek. Contract Dl.—Cutting and embanking about forty-eight chains of • main road Gisborne to Ormond, (from Uren’s corner), and construction of two box drains. Contract for Maintenance of roads for one year. Contract No. I.—From the Matawhero crossing to Espie’s corner. Contract No 2.—From Espie’s comer to Colebrooke’s Hotel, Waerenga-a-hika. Contract No. 3. —From Colebrooke’e Hotel, Wae-renga-a-hika to Ormond. Specifications to be seen, and further informa-' tion obtained on application at the Road Board office.
