Exhibits for this Department will be classified as “ Saleable,” “ Competitive,” and <J For exhibit only,” and will comprise all Industrial Manufactures. (A) Exhibits for SALE must be specially notified, with prices attached, and must be accompanied by a fee for commission, at the following rates : If price fixed be under .£l, 5 pm*’ cent. If price fixed be from £l to £5, 4 per cent. If price fixed be from £5 to '2O, 3 per cent. If price fixed be over £2O, per cent. (B) Competitive exhibits shall bear a charge of Is for each exhibit, and Certificates of Merit will be alloted by competent judges. No certificates, however, will be issued if less than 3 exhibits of similar articles are entered. Exhibits in this class must also bear a full description accompanying same, and whether manufactured within the Colony or otherwise. HOME INDUSTRIES President ; Mrs Watts, Secretary ; Mrs B. 0. Exhibits fortius Department will be classified as “ Saleable,” “ Competitive,” and “ For exhibit only.” (A) “ Saleable ” exhibits will be charged the same tees as above and will be subject to similar conditions. (B) “ Competitive ” exhibits will cemprise : 1 Collection of Plain Knitting in Wool, Cotton, or both 2 Collection of Fancy Kuitting in Do Do Do 3 Collection of Crochet in Do Do Do 4 Collection of Netting in Do Do Do 5 Collection of Plain. Sewing, done entirely by band, by a girl under 18 years of age. 6 Specimen of Darning. 7 Greatest variety of Fancy Work, 8 Single piece of Fancy Work of any description. 9 Collection of Jams, Jellies, and Bottled Fruits. 10 Collection of Sauces, Pickles, Ac. 11 Doll (dressed in any costume by girl under 16 years of age). 12 Models in Cardboard, Wood, Ac,, Drawings, Carpentry, Carving, Fretwork, &c. When work is done by a child, age of child to be stated, and age and quality will then be taken into consideration. Exhibits in this class shall bear a charge of 3d. CURIOS and WORKS OF ART. Oatmeal, Starch, Precious Stories, Ac. Special Exhibits which cannot easily be classified will be received. Persons who do not require the return of their exhibits, will kindly signify their intentions, and a gift auction will beheld of such on the evening of January Ist. Christmas Tree (elaborately decorated) will be on view, and the prizes will bo clvav.n tor on the evening of January Ist. Persons who are walling to provide articles for the Tree, will kindly signify the number and nature of such. Entertainments of vaiied characters, wall take place from 8 to 10 every evening, w'hen not otherwise engaged. GEEDNJEK-AJL KEGULATIOKS. Exhibits must be packed securely in cases and addressed to the Secretaries “ Patea Exhibition ” Prtoa, “ Fir Exhibit only.” All Exhibits (exclusive of Industrial Exhibits by Union Go’s Boats) will be conveyed free of charge to and from any port in the colony—where the Union Co's and Anchor Co’s steamers run—and over the Government Railways, Industrial Exhibits will be charged freight one way from any Union Go’s port to Wellington. Fire insurance will be effected to cover general risk, and great care taken in | packing and unpacking and general supervision.
