TERRIBLE PRIZE FIGHT NEAR LONDON.

A most determined prize light came off on August 11, at the house of a well-known sportsman, within a mile of Shoreditch Church, between George Mahoney, alias “Brave ’Un 25 years of ago, and William Perrin, alias “ Old ’Un.” Mahoney’s seconds v ore Boh Preston and Jack Hicks, and Perrin was seconded by James Flynn and Alf Crisp. The men fought in a most determined manner for an hour and three-quarters, and at the end of 43 rounds were each so terribly punished that the seconds stoppoi the fight. Mahoney was rendered stone blind in one eye. and Perrin had one of his eyes ripped open. When the fight was stopped it was impossible to say which man had the advantage. This is the third time the men have met, and on each occasion the light has ended in a draw. Mahoney works as a sawyer in the viciuily of Hoxton, Perrin is 34 years old, and works as a painter. Tire stakes were £lO a side. After the light there was a champagne dinner at the hostelry where the encounter took place, the two combatants sitting side by side.
