* ’ The Egmont Courier of Saturday last says—“lt is rumoured that Mr Blandish, solicitor, intends contesting the New Plymouth seat with Mr T. Kelly. M.H.R;, at the next general election, We give the rumonr for what it is worth, but take leave to doubt it. Rumour is also busy with Mr Samuel’s name as a probable candidate for Parliamentary honors.” We {Taranaki Herald) understand tl>at . a number of Mr Samuel’s friends are urging that gentleman to contest the seat for Egmont with Major Atkinson, and promise to actively canvass the district on his behalf.
