COMMERCIAL.
NOLAN, TONKS AND CO.’d MANAIA SALE. There was a large attendance at Messrs Nolan, Tonks anil Co.’s Manaia sale on Thursday, and the yards were well filled. Most of the cattle entered were sold at prices a shade lower than at the two last preceding sales. Cows and cal res fetched L2 14s to L2 17s 6d. One pen good dry forward cows sold for L 3 5s ; 3-yenr-old heifers, L2 10s to L 3 ; one pen of large 3£-year-o!d steers realised L 4 15-» ; year old steeis, L 3 2s 6d. Several horses of a useful stamp were quitted. The privileges of the Manaia race meeting were sold, and realised the following prices ;—Gates, L4l, Mr Lewis ; publican’s booth (No. 1), L 9, Mr Jackson ; publican’s booth (No 2), LB, Mr Jackson ; refreshment booth, LI, Mr Deegan j cards. L 4. Total, LGB.
