Annual Meeting.

The Annual Statutory Meeting Was held at noon to-day. Present—The Mayor, and Crs Paul, Aitchison and Bright'. ? ;

Cr Gower attended, and after the usual declaration,: topic his seat, The Clerk read the no«ice from the Returning Officer,stating th«.l Mr,'ft, A. 1 Adams had been re-eleotod Mayor. Mr Adams then made the declaration necessary, and was duly installed by the Clerk.

He hoped they wonld be unanimous for.the -general good, with a healthy opposition. at the same time.

Cr Bright thought the Council would be wanting in courtesy if they allowed" the opportunity to pass without congratulating* the Mayor pnhis re-election. He hoped that harmony would, continue in the Council.
