MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT.

t , Wednesday, Dec 12. Stock are without any quotable change since my last report. The demand continues fairly good at current rates for all descriptions of cattle and sheep. At Kakaramca the yards were full. The bidding was dull at the. auction, but I placed every line afterwards. At Manaia only a small number came forward, and they were not sold. At St Hill street the pens were well filled, and all lots were cleared, with the exception of some milch cows. Sheep sold well at good prices ; one line of shorn ewes had to be turned mit nnPoldrAbe price-offered not being up touowueta’ value. Tlw'iwSwwtiwieya^rng* sale was large by those interested in the sale of stock. Cattle —At Kakaramea 141 head were sold : Bullocks, £4 10s ; good cows, £3 to £3 2s 6d (nearly fat); 2-year-old steers, £2 17s 6d ; heifers, £2 ; yearlings, 30s. At the yards to-day 228 head were sold : Fat bullocks, £6 16s £7 15s ; bullocks, £4 6s 3d : cows, 37s ; milch cows, £2 10» to £6 ; yearlings, 25s to 275. Shekp—At Kakaramea 418 were sold : Ewes and lambs, 13s ; shorn ewes, 7«, At St Hill street 563 were penned : Ewes and lambs in wool made 15s lid ; wethers In wool, 14a lOd to 15s. Pigs—ln good demand, from 12s fid to 28a, according to quality and size. Homes —No alteration in value. Over one-half that were enteted found purchasers at current rates.
