THE SHAW, SAVILL STEAMERS.

The Dunedin agents of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have received advices by the mail that the Company have contracted with Messrs Denny Bros, of the Clyde, for the building of two steamers for the New Zealand trade. These will each be 420 feet long, with 46 feet beam, and 32 feet deep, a gross tonnage of 5350 tons, and an average speed at sea of 12£ knots. They will be provided with refrigerating machinery and all the latest improvements. In order to maintain a monthly service, the Company have chartered the White Star steamers Coptic, lonic, and Doric, for a series of years.
