Weather forecast for 2i horns, from 9 a.m. to-day : Wind—betweenson'h-west and southeast at all places north of Napier and New Ply month, and between north-east and south-east at all other places. Barometer—further rise at all places north of Lyttelton and Hokitika, bnt falling at nil other places after 12 hours. Sea-—moderate on both coasts.
Telegrams for very cold or frosty nights have been sent to most places south of Castlepoint and Wanganui. Synopsis of last 2-t hours—Throughout the country the barometer has continued rising, and there has been a strong gale from the southward on the eastern constj between Lyttelton and East Cape.
