HEROIC RESCUE BY A BOY.

A crippled lad, named Roger Edwards, about 15 years of age, performed a very heroic -feat at South Wnrrnamhool the other day by jumping off the jetty and saving the life of his sister, a child of two years and a half old, who had been playing on the jetty steps, over-balanced herself and fell into the sea. She was being rapidly carried into the breakers when the alarm was given by some other children. Her brother heard the cries, and throwing his crutch on the jetty, plunged into the sea near where the little girl had disappeared. He succeeded in bringing her to-the surface, and then struggled against the current to keep out of the breakers He maintained his hold of the child with great determination and pluck until his lather arrived with a boat into which ho was dragged in an almost exhausted condition. The little girl had become insensible, but was brought round by Pilot Cloke, who successfully resorted to the treatment recommended by the Royal Humane Society for the recovery of the apparently drowned.
