FIRE AT AUCKLAND.
|_PKR PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, Oct 28. A fire broke out at 9 o’clock in the npper-floor warehouse of Mr Arthur Heather, merchant, Custom House street, but it was suppressed by the Fire Brigade. The damage by fire is only a few hundreds, but considerable damage is believed to have taken place by the water, which flooded the ground floor and cellarage. This day. The correct insurances on the fire are stodk, Northern, £8000; National, £1000; United, £3OOO, of . which £2OOO are -re-insured in the South British, Northern Union £SOOO of which £IOOO arc re-insured in North British; Colonial £3OOO, of which £IOOO are re-insured in the Phoenix ; building ■ in the Norwich Union for £2OOO. Total insurance, £IB,OOO.
