PATE A—THIS DAY. (Before C. A. Wray, Esq., R.M. DRUNKENNESS. Henry Dray was charged with being drunk on the 14th inst, in Bedford street. Prisoner pleaded guilty. Constable Crozier said that prisoner was reported as being drunk and disorderly to Sergeant Donovan, who was, however, unable to attend. As prisoner had pleaded- guilty ho (Constable Crozier) would go on with the case and call William Wilson, who stated that he had been in company with prisoner on the day in question. Whilst coming across the bridge prisoner remained by the railing. Witness went on, but looking back he saw the prisoner endeavouring to throw himself into the river. With the assistance, however, of another person, witness succeeded in preventing this. Prisoner had nothing to say in his defence. Constable Crozier said the prisoner had been brought up once before on a charge similar to the present one. His Worship inflicted a fine of ss, and costs 19s. CIVIL CASKS. Taplin v. Claridqe, Case adjourned. Taplin v. Beere, Claim £l9 19s 9d, goods supplied. Defendant had written admitting the claim, and asking time to pay. Ho was willing to pay £5 per month. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed and costs, £l, to be paid in instalments of £5 per month.
