THE Company’s splendid new screw steamer WAVERLEY, will leave for WELLINGTON, (weather and other circumstances per milting) ON THURSDAY, AT 9 P.M. Cargo must in all cases be booked and passage tickets obtained through the Office. Orders for delivery of goods can only be obtained at the Office, and any complainls as to non-delivery of cargo and other matters should be referred to the Manager, to ensure attention. MR LESLIE CHARLES, after suffering a severe illness for nearly two yeors, having recovered his health, intends Re-commencing to Teach as above. Mr Charles has been a very successful Teacher in the principal towns of both Upper and Lower Canada. In this Colony lie for nearly two years held the position of Organist to St Peter’s Church, Havelock ; and since that, up to the time of his illness, was Conductor of the Hawera Choral Societj'. Lessons will be given at St JameV Hall, or at pupil's private residence. HANDLEY Patea, Sept. 21st, 1883. LIME. IF YOU want fine, juicy, well-grown and quickly grown vegetables and fruit, use lime. Dig or loosen the earth, and sprinkle on the surface. This prepared lime will not injure plants, even if in contact with them. It dissolves plant food, stimulates growth, destroys acids, and weeds, like sorrel, that thrive on acids. All animals and vegetables need lime, and the soil of this coast is poor in lime. In bags of 2 cwt. each, delivered in Patea at 4s per bag ; at Waveriey, 3s. I’erms, cash on delivery.
