MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wednesday, Oct 3. At Waverley on the 20'h ultimo only a limited number of stock came forward. ThQ cattle were dull of sale, but the prices realised for sheep were satisfactory’ to tinvendors. At Hawcra on the 28th a superior lot of cattle were entered, the bulk being sold at ruling rates, the bidding for sheep was brisk, indicating a good demand. At tbe yards to-day not many cattle were yarded. There was noi much spirit shown at the auction, though I placed all on hand afterwards. Sheep were in good demand, and sold well. Cattle.—At Waverley fat cows made £4 10s. At Hawera 334 head were yarded : bullocks in forward condition, £6 12s 6d and £5 15s ; 2-year-old steers, £2 15s ; yearlings, 29s 6d to 325. At St Hill-street 49 bead were sold ; fat cows, £6 ; store steers, £3 15s ; cows, £2 2s 6d; milch cows, £3 15s to £5. Sheep. —At Waverley, ewes and lambs, 13s 3d ; hoggets, 10s. At Hawera 460 sheep were sold ; ewes and lambs, 13s 3d ; hoggets, 10s 3d ; dry ewes, 8s Id. At the yards to-day 488 came forward ; fat sheep, 13s Id to 14s 6d; ewes in lamb, 12s 3d ; fat lambs, 6s 9d to Bs. Horses— A few good hacks were sold at £8 to £l2 ; screws and weeds, £3 to £5. Pigs—ln good demand ; porkers, 12s 6d ; bacon pigs, 27s 6-i to 355. Exports —l3l • cattle, 670 sheep, 20 horses.
