WELLINGTON, This day. Weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day. Wind—between south-west and south east in both islands. Barometer—Further rise at all sta tions. Sea—heavy on both coasts south of East Capo and New Plymouth. Warnings for somberly gales have been sent to all stations. Synopsis of last 48 hours—Northward of Eost Cape and New Plymouth the Barometer continued falling until a late hour on Saturday, and since then it has risen slowly but cveywhere else it rose a little until Sunday morning, then fell slowly and during the night has again risen a little. There have been strong southerly gales on the Const between Lyttelton and East Capo and northwest to southwest gales from thence northward. The weather has been unusually cold in all parts of the country.
