. [REUTER —COPYRIGHT. J (Received Sept 28, 1.25 p.m.) ADELAIDE, This day. In the Legislative Assembly last night, the Government were defeated on the proposed taxation scheme by 18 to 13 votes. The House stands adjourned to Tuesday next. The Treasurer announced that the quarter’s receipts were found to bo £50,000 below the estimate, and he expected it would be necessary
to modify the taxation proposals. It is not probable that the Government will seek a dissolution of Parliament.
