THE MELBOURNE BANK ROBBERY.
[IIEUTEU COPyiUGHT.J MELBOURNE, Sept 24. Richard Corbett, wbo is under arrest charged with robbery at the Commercial Bank of Australia, was brought up at the Police Court to-day, and remanded for a week. Three more bars of gold, valued at £2OOO, were found hidden in a shutter of one of the windows on the bank premises. The place of concealment was disclosed bytlie prisoner, who lias also stated the locality where the other bars are hid. The bank applied for a warrant for the arrest of the caretaker at the bank, who is prisoner’s father, and all other members of his family. The application was refused by the Magistrate, the case against them being groundless. The prisoner's mother became seriously ill through anxiety 7 . (Received, Sept 26, 1 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept 25. The balance of the bars of gold stolen from the Commercial Bank of Australia were discovered to-day buried in the earth at Motdialloc, 15 miles south-east of this city. The locality was indicated by’ the prisoner Corbett.
