MONTHLY REPORT.
HAWEBA, Friday.
Baring the month there has been little or no demand for any class of stock excepting quiet steers, which have been in request for the small holders in the bush. Very few hare changed hands at the hammer, but we have disposed of several lots privately. With the spring advancing we anticipate a brisk enquiry for all classses of stores, and a better price. In sheep there has been a ready sale for anything brought forward. CATTLE— At Manaia on the 6th, 74 head were sold: 18-month-old steers, L2; 2to 3-year-old heifers, L2 7s 6d ; store cows, L2 5s ; fat cows, L 4 10s. At Hawera, 122 head were sold. Yearling steers, 355; 18-mohth-old steers, L2 5s to L 9 10s; 2-year-old steers, L2 12s ; 2J-year-old steers, L 3 3s ; 3-year-old steers, LI. Sheep —At Hawera, 305 fat hoggets brought 12s 6d, Pigs— Stores, from 7s to 13s.
