To start at 3.30 o’clock 7 Forced Handicap, of 20 sovs ; once round the course ; entrance, winning horses, 1 sov; losing horses, 10s To start at 4 o’clock Dates of nominations, acceptances, Ac., and amounts to be forwarded All nominations, entries, and acceptances close at the Commercial Hotel, Waverley, at 10 a m , as under : Thursday, 4th October, 1883, at 10 am Nominations —Handicap Hurdles (2 sovs) Flying (I sov), W and W Handicap (2 sovs) Friday,,!2Lh October, 1883 Weights to be declared Thursday, 18th October, 1883 Acceptances—Handicap Hurdles (2 sovs), Flying (2 sovs), Maiden (3 sovs), W and W Handicap (3 sovs), Guineas (4 sovs) ROLES AND REGULATIONS No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition —That all disputes, claims, and objections, arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final All entries must be scaled and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Box No 12, - Waverley, entrance money enclosed (exchange must be added to cheques), with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps, the performance of horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider Any jockey riding except in colours entered will be fined 3 sovs When two or more h'.rses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn All persons intending to withdraw horses are required To give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half hour before starting Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 sovs to the Race Fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. In all races the second horse only saves his stakes when it is especially mentioned that he does so. No qualification fee. No entries or nominations will be received under any pi’elencc whatever after the specified time for closing.
