VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

The Patea Rifles are reminded that tomorrow night is a Government Inspection Parade, and we trust to see the men roll up in justice to each other. The Parade held last Tuesday evening does not count for capitation as there was one short of the required number (according to the new regu* lations), in attendance. The men will plainly see from this, that the fact of the Captain not granting leave is only in the interests of the whole company. Mr George Hudson, formerly a fcergeant in the Patea Rifles has rejoined the corps as an “ efficient volunteer.” The Act is elastic enough to allow this, but none but efficients can be taken on after Jany 31, and July 31, in each year.
