ST. GEORGE'S CHURCH.

. The Ven Archdeacon Thorpe conducted services in St George’s Episcopalian Church yesterday, both morning and evening. In the raoi'ning a large congregation assembled, : a number of people from the country districts being present. In the evening, before the service, the rite of Baptism was administered by the Archdeacon to several infants, the number of whom proclaimed that some time has elapsed since the ceremony was performed here last. The largest, congregation that has been seen in. the English Church, for a long while Was present at the evening service when the chants, were nicely sung. The'sermon preached on the text “ For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ,” Eomans I, IG, was attentively listened to throughout. The hymns sung during the service were 2"7, 223, 2CG } Ancient and Modern. A meeting to take into consideration Church matters will be held in the Church' this evening.
