RUMOURED GOLD DISCOVERY
AT MOMAHAKL There is a rumour going about that gold has been discovered in the Moniahaki District. Wo have been informed by a gentleman that cither on Wednesday night or Thursday morning a Maori came intoWavcrIcy and exhibited a quantity of specimens. Ho stated .that he had four Europeans .working, but would not disclose the locality, and an attempt is being made by one or two white men to track him. There is an air of improbability about this s'ory, but our informant, who is a gentleman well known here, seemed to be of opinion that there might be some truth in the report. We hope
