To be paid up as follows :—los on application; 10s on allotment; the balance of calls of £1 each at intervals of not less than three months. Provisional Directors. Bankers. . Bank of New Zealand. Solicitor. Gervase D Hanierton : Interim Secretary. Thomas Eyton This Company is formed for the purpose of preparing meat, dairy and agricultural produce, for sale or export. The Company intend to do the export business for the public entirely as agents, and on agency terms ; but it will be prepared, if such business is not offered, to undertake it as principals. The question of the meat supply to Europe is one of the most important of the present day, and is exciting great attention. Every -year in England the food supply grows less in proportion to the population as is evidenced 'by the fact that in 1870 the total value of meat imported into the United Kingdom was £7,700,000, but in 1880 it had grown to upwards of £26,000;000. The present values of fat stock upon the Coast being so low, shareholders in the Company would reap an immediate Benefit, as they would be able to provide themselves with a steady and regular market for their Stock at paying rates all the year round, glutted markets and nominal prices being, rendered impossible to those Farmers and Stockowners who have an interest in and avail* themselves of the services of the Company. Shareholders shall always have the first claim upon the Company’s services. It is proposed to purchase or to lease a suitable site at- Patea for the purpose of erecting thereon the necessary store (calculated to hold not less than 2000 carcases), machinery, yards, &c., for the requirements of the Company; and to convey the frozen meat or produce to one of the principal ports in the Colony for immediate shipment by Home vessel or if no vessel is in such port, to store it, pending shipment; and in order to provide for such storage, the best possible arrangements will be entered into as soon as is desirable at the port chosen for Home shipment. Messrs Haslam’s agent has examined the s.s. Waverley, now trading to Patea, and reported that.she can be fitted up for 1 a "moderate sum with Refrigerating machinery, to carry 890 sheep, without materially reducing her cargo-carrying capacity. The objects of this Company are of such great importance to all on this Coast, especially as' it is essentially a grazing district'; that the promoters count upon the support of all interested in its successful operations. As soon as in the opinion of the Directors, sufficient capital is subscribed, the Company will be registered, shares allotted to subscribers, and operations commenced. Applications for shares to be made to the Provisional Directors or to the Interim Secretary, Mr T. Eyton, at the office of the Company, Egmont-slreet, Patea, where forms Can be had, on or before the Ist day of October, 1883, The application' fee can be paid to either of the Branches of the Bank of N.Z. at Hawera, Manaia, Normanby, Waverley, or Patea, or to the Interim Secretary. 1 *- ; 1 1 i The Memorandum of Association can be seen at, the office of,the.
