ARRESTED FOR MURDER.
[per press association.] • WANGANUI, This day. At the .‘^Police.\Court this morning a woman named - Josephine Green was brought up on two separate - charges of stealing, a quantify qf wearing apparel, value £5, from ■ Haw ora, and wilfully murdering an infant child named Arthur Standfield (otherwise Arthur •-.Green) on 11th January last, at Hawera. The merits of. the cases were not gone into at all, and the police asked for a remand to Hawera till Saturday nevt, when they will come on for bearing before the 11.M. there. For the latter charge the woman is said to have been arrested in consequence of (lie sudden and mysterious disappearance of he<r child.
