A DOMESTIC DEAMA.
Some sensation wag .caused in Newmarket, Auckland, on the 15th, by the arrest of a well-known butcherrof that place, Edward Dewar Richards, on a charge of unlawfully and maliciously committing ; damage to a house, the property of Benjamin Tanner, Richards is well known in connection, with a recent bigamy casei,and his domestic troubles are connected with the present .charge. Bn was married some years ago to a woman named' ;K.elly, : by 'whom be bad several children. . In a moment of fondness for his offspring, !! 0 made over to them and ; dwelling house at Newmarket, and some time afterwards be went through, the .Court, It would appear /that. lie. repented of his generosity; and; desired itoS/baveZthe deed destroyed. This change of mind led to domestic unhappiness', which' ended in bis wife being charged at the ' Supreme Court ; with bigamy. She was acquitted, and went to live at North Shore. ■■ Soon afterwards' it became known that Mrs Richards' had sold the property, while Richards himself held
possession, MF«i#&iner,£ the purchaser, endeavoured to get into the premises, but failed.
