WEATHER REPORT.
(per press association) WELLINGTON, This day. Weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day : —Wind ; Between northwest and south-west at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, and between north-east and north-west at all other places, wind backing after 12 hours. Barometer : Further rise at all stations, but falling at all places south of Napier and New Plymouth after 12 hours. Sea : increase on western coast and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura. Warnings for northerly gales after 12 hours have been Sent to all places south of Napier and New Plymouth. Synopsis of last 48 hours :—During Saturday afternoon the barometer continued rising steadily, and there were strong south-west to southeast gales at places southward of Oamaru, but from thence northward to Napier and New Plymouththere were hard gales from north-west and south-west, and rain fell heavily at all places in the Middle Island on Sunday afternoon. The barometer again commenced falling* aud the wind backed to north and north-east at most stations south of Napier and New Plymouth, but rose again after 10 p.m., with hard gale between north-west and southwest in other parts of the country. The weather has been generally moderate since Sunday morning.
