FIRE AT GISBORNE.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GISBORNE, This day. The premises of D. A. Orr, produce merchant, in Gladstone road, last night were completely destroyed by fire. It was a great conflagration and caused much excitement, consequent upon the danger that surrounded other premises. Through the exertions of members of the defunct fire brigade and members of the Borough Council, police and others, the fire was confined to the building destroyed. The store was insured for £250 in the North British, but Mr Orr allowed a policy of £SOO to lapse a few days ago. Mr Clayson, confectioner, is a loser of about £2OO (uninsured) through damage to goods and stock on removal from the adjacent premises.
