MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Prices for all descriptions of stock, rule on a par with those quoted in my last report The sales during the interval have not been very satisfactory to the vendors, and the quantity offered has been confined to actual requirement. I do not anticipate any improvement in values until spring sets in ; then, -with the flush of grass, I think prices must improve. Market for good pigs keeps up fairly well. Cattle —At Kakaramea the yards were about half filled. At Manaia 131 head were yarded—Cows, £2 2s 6d ; steers, £3 7s 6d ; weaners, 25s to 275. At the yards to-day no store cattle were yarded—Fat cows, £4l6s to £5. Sheep —At Kakaramea 210 were sold — Wethers, lls ; ewes, 7s. At the St Hill-street yards 675 were penned— Fat wethers, 12s to 13s ; ewes in lamb, 8s 3d. Hohses —Very few, sold at low rates. Pigs—Porkers, 10s to 20s ; bacon pigs, up to 60s. * ■
