The' District 't’dart is'engaged'in hearing a case for the iccovcry of damage for breach of contract to sell and deliver gra s seed, brought by Mr Mitchell of Hawcra, against Messrs Commons, Shelton and Co, of Gisborne. The case occupied the whole of yesterday* andywasadjourned tiff this ;mprningr Mr Samuel appearsi/fdr the plaintiff,.land Mr Brassey of Gisborne for the defendants] Lateb. On the Court resuming this morning, Mr Samuel stated that counsel had [been able to arrive at a settlement of the matters in dispute, by which it. had been agreed to settle hoth ; the present action and a cross action brought in ■ Gisborne. The case was discharged.
