FIRE AT KAKARAMEA.

About five o’clock this morning a fire occurred at Kakaramea by which Mr Mr McLaren’s bootmaker’s shop, and the stables and outbuildings attached to the Kakaramea Hotel were destroyed. Fortunately the hotel itself was not injured, owing to its being some little distance from the buildings which were burnt down. The hotel stables are insured in the South British for £3OO, and Mr McLaren’s stock for £75 in the Colonial, but the loss will very much exceed that amount.
