GALE AT AUCKLAND
Two 'Vessels ashore. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This day, A heavy north-east gale passed over the City last night! There is no damage done in town, but in the harbour a timber barque dragged her anchor and was driven on the North Shore. The barque Gazelle, lately seized by H.M. Customs in consequence of the Captain, bringing a few pounds of tobacco ashore, was driven on the reef at Ponsonby.
