When the House met to-day (18th) it was apparent to the occupants of the Press gallery that something extraordinary had happened. Members were gathered; in excited little knots gesticulating violently, and ever and anon casting wondering glances towards the Ministerial benches. That portion of the House became the cynosure of reporters’ 'eyes, ..when ..it..Was .apparent that the causb of ' the’ abnormal agitation of members was the faet that Mr Bryce hadjeut hisi hair. / Formerly: hist capillary covering hung. in long, curly, dishevelled, clammylopking.masses about his ears, which, coupled with his greenery-yellery complexion, gave him a distinctly. Bnnthorn appearance. The . fact is] that though he reviled Aucklanders for their sestheticism, he was a pronounced aesthete himself.
