We are in receipt of the following Patea, July 16, ’B3. MEMORANDUM FOR THE EDITOR PATEA MAIL. My foolorneter informs me that you have been making use of my name in the columns of your pap-(rag.) Do not repeat this liberty without an order from me. Archer 0. Croft, M.R.0.5., J.P, Patea.
[We feel snuffed .out completely. To call us a “ pap-(rag)” I “ Why its too bad !” Then the terrible severity of the last sentence, “Do not repeat this liberty without an order from me.” The staff of this “ rag ” is in an awfully dejected slate since the issue of this fiat , and there was some talk of putting up the shutters , as the doctor had shut us up. However, we have thought , better of it, and promise not to mention any more doctor’s names—until next time. Send along the “order” as quick as possible, doctor.]
