ON BRIGADE MATTERS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —T was pleased to see the letter signed “ Phoenix,” that appeared in your last issue, as it shows to the public and the Borough Council that the Brigade have some admirers. He says the Patea public hare given the Brigade more support than the Council, Quite true, as the only assistance ever given by the Council was making a crossing to the engine-shed, and all other applications that have been made for assistance were ordered to lie on the table. As the Council meet on Monday night, and assistance is now urgently required, I trust they will recognise the services of the Brigade and assist them. I hope some more able writer than I will wake up through the Press and not allow the Brigade to disband, for if they do it will be a bad thing for Patea if another fire occurs.—Yours &c,, . Fireman.
