MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK; REPORT. Wednesday, June 13. The sales during the past fortnight have been marked by a reduction in value for sheep, which may now be quoted at 1 s per head under the prices ruling at the date of my last report. The sale at Waverley was very dull, and a large number of the stock entered had to be turned out unsold. At the Hawera yards on Friday last there was a slight improvement in the number sold. About two-thirds were placed at or after the auction. To-day no beef was sold ; the bulk of the sheep found purchasers at the quotations. Pigs met a ready sale, all entered being sold at the auction. Cattte. —At Waverley 21 head were sold. Cows, £2 7s; milch cows, £4 17s 6d. At Hawera 170 head came forward. Forward bullocks, £5 10s ; 2-year-old steers, £3 2s 6d ; fat cows, £4 2s 6d to £4 10s. Sheep,—At Waverley 400 were sold. Fat ewes, 10s ; ewes in lamb, 8s od. At Hawera about 1800 were penned. Fat ewes, 10s 6d ; ewes in lamb, 7s 9d to 8s 3d ; shorn lambs, 4s 6d. At the St Hill Street yards 1643 were sold. Fat wethers, 12s to 12s lOd; ewes in lamb, 9s 6d to 10s 6d ; old ewes, 6s sd. Pigs.—76 head made up the sale. Good porkers, 17s to 21s ; larger sorts, up to 42s ; stores, 4s. Horses,—No alteration in value of this class of stock. The entire horse, Dan O’Connell, brought £23. Exports.—3so sheep.
