[From our Correspondent.]Tuesday.. A. meeting, of the Library Committee was held on Saturday.;. The . present librarian, Mr Brown,.tendered his'resignation,. The resignation ; was accepted with regret and Mr A. Woods was appointed as Mr Brown’s.,successor, A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Brown for past : services both as librarian and also as a member of committee. Meeting adjourned sine die. Lamb, at this time of the year, may be considered both a rarity and a luxury. One of our butchers, Mr R. W. Brodie, displayed ay Cry, fine, specimen' qnjSatnrday'evening much to- the’Astonishment of those who visited the establishment., That itr was ’of. Tig’lifc: down •. excellent .quality your correspondent can vouch fchy haying tasted it. Green 7 peas, Mr Brodio waSun;-foifuhately.unable.to-supply on account of some rhishap ‘to the .flue of his forcing house. One cannot' however grumble, it is a great thing to get the lamb. There will be a continued supply until Spring. The Town Hall Committee are, with praiseworthy endeavours, trying by means of a varied entertainment to reduce the debt on that building. Notice of the date will appear shortly I presume in. the form of advertisement; 7 !
