■. : J (PERT-PRESS‘ASSOCIATION .1 ■ -- WELLINGTON, Jane 12. The s.s. lonic, Capt. E. O. Hallett, R.N., arrived in hairbonr shortly, after midnight, having made the passage in 43 days 22 hours from Plymouth, inclusive of 16 hours detention at Tenerine for coaling purposes; the actual period under way being 43 days 6 hours. Fine weather with moderate winds ’ was experienced throughout the voyage. No occurrence of special interest took place on the voyage. The ship has arrived in beautifully clean order. In addition to the Government immigrants, she has a considerable number of: saloon passengers, all of whomiare men. There are six of the regular employes of the N.Z. Shipping Company serving as officers on board, Captain Bone,-late, of tlie Rakai.a, being second officer. This day. The lonic leaves for Lyttelton at noon to-morrow. Three or four of the seamen have been sentenced to 14 days imprisonment for refusing duty on the x voyage.
