WAIROA HIGHWAY BOARD.
A special meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday, 26th inst. Present, Wardens Johnston, Howie,, and Aiken. Mr Johnston in the chair. The following tenders were received for Motoroa Road cuttings :T. Lowes, £lßl2s ;J. Hughes, £1 19s per chain ; S. Irwin, £l7 17s 6d. Resolved, That Mr Irwin’s tender be accepted. Resolved, That a rate of in the pound be made for the year commencing Ist April, 1883, and ending bn 31st March, 1884, payable in one installment on 15 June,, 1883. Some correspondence and sundry matters were read and leftover till ordinaiy meeting on 2nd June. The meeting then adjourned.
