A FRESH START.

To-day should mark a new era in - the progress of Patea. The long expected steamer Wavorley. has arrived, and the Company may now be said to havefaiidy resumed operations. Wc congratulate

the owners of the steamer upon possessing perhaps the best vessel of her size in the Colony, and w« can onlt hope that she will find profitable employment in the trade. The verdict of everybody who has inspected the Waverley, is that she is by far the most suitable boat that has yet been here, and what everybody s ays must be right. The port and distrsct may well be proud of the local ve ssel, and, in the experienced hands ot her popular commander we feel she will bring good to the place. Once more we congratulate the. Company upon their enterprise in providing snch a handsome little vessel, and the travelling public upon having such a comfortable craft to voyage in.
