KAKARAMEA.

[From our Correspondent.] Monday. . Gn Friday Mr P. R. Jackson held his sale of stock &c. at the yards. The weather was splendid and the attendance remarkably good. 200 head of cattle were yarded, and about 2,100 sheep. There was but little change in the price of cattle. Cows and calves went at £3 2s 6d ; cows, half fatted, £3 10s to £3 16s ; heifers, £2 10s to £3 10s ; yearlings, £1 15s. Sheep Fat sheep, 9s 6d to 12s 3d ; ewes and lambs, 9s 2d ; lambs, 4s ; old ewes, 5s 4d. The surplus timber and iron work from the Manutahi and Kakaramea railway station was also sold. The Library Comitiittee held a meeting the other evening. The following accounts were passed for payment:—A D Willis (Wanganui) £ll 3s lOd ; Patea Mail, 11s 3d ; J Kenworthy, £5 15s 6d ; R Erskine, £l. A resolution was passed to the effect that the Librarian be empowered to get some new works immediately, and the meeting adjourned.
