i- ME FREEMAN R, JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. At the Waverley sale a large number of stock came forward. The bidding was dull for cattle and brisk for sheep. The bulk of the cattle were sold after the auction. At Hawera the weather was -so bad that little business was done. The demand for cattle was dull, and the bidding for sheep not so brisk as at Waverley. About one-half the stock entered was cleared. At the yards today, a'small entry of cattle made up the sale. All the sheep were sold, and nearly all the cattle. ; Prices show no improvement for any description of stock. Cattle —At Waverley 465 head were yarded. 3-year-old bullocks, £4 16s 6d ; • steers, £2 12s 6d and £2 16s 6d ; cows, £2 4s ; weaners, 255; cows and calves, £1 ss. At Hawera 210 head came forward. Steers, £3 2s 6d : 3-year-old bullocks, £5 2s 6d ; fat cows £5 ; weaners, 25s t0.305. At St Hillstreet 235 head were offered. Fat bullocks, £7 5s to £7 15s ; cows, £4 10s ; store cows, £2 to £2 Ss ; weaners, 255. ibd ShEep —At Waverley 1533 were penned. Ewes in lamb, 9s Bcl to 10s 7d ; wethers, 12s 2d ; lambs, 6s sd. At Hawera about 3000 were offered. Ewes, 8s : 6d to 9s ; wethers, 13s 3d. At St Hill-stieet ; 1000 were sold. Wethers, 10s 9d ; ewes. 8s 9d ; old ewes, 4s Ipci. C 11; V C~ v ' T ~ : PIGS—A large number came forward. Good, well-fattened porkers, 17s 6d to 31s : -bacon pigs, up to £2 Is. 'Horses—Draughts, unbroken, £ls to £lB ; 32s 6d ; hacks at usual rates.
