MORE SENSATION.
ANOTHER SUPPOSED MURDER. • i [PER press association.] DUNEDIN, April 19. Another story, which has somewhat the aspect of sensation, comes from Roxbourgh, the scene of the Chinese mnrder. A miner named Henry Coulter has disappeared mysteriously; he was last seen in the township about midnight on the 4th instant, the worse of liquor, and known to have money about him. There was a rumour to-day that his body had been found in the river, but it was incorrect. NATIVE MEETING AT TE KUITL . ♦ : , (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKL AND, April It is stated that the Native meeting at Te Kuiti have passed a resolution to the effect that Mr Bryce be allowed to go through, but that he was not to be allowed to make a survey until they were quite clear about how their lands were to be dealt with. Tawhiao will soon be present at the meeting. The Native Reserves Aotfwhich Mrjßryce had passed last session, and which he was very anxious to bring into operation over; lauds in the King Country, was brought up; but the Natives would have nothing to do with it, as they were afraid if they gave a piece to the Government to deal with, ? that Ministers would issue ft ‘proclarhatipn .tying tip large districts,' as they have done with the land between Rotorua and Waikato.
