Weather forecast for 24 hours, from 1) a.m. to-day: Wind, between south-: cast and north-east in. both Islands ; barometer, fall at all stations after 12 hours; sea, heavy on Eastern Coast north of Kaikoura. Warnings for easterly gales have been sent to all places north of Napier and New Plymouth. Synopsis of last 24 hours: Throughout the Colony the barometer has risen steadily with easterly winds and cold weather.
