A TRAGEDY IN LEEDS.

+ James Carling, a herbalist, living in Hod ley street, Now Worthy, Leeds, recently murdered his two children, aged 8 and 3 years, by poisoning them, and afterwards committed suicide by cutting his throat. Tho deceased, who had boon low-spirited for some tirno past, poisoned his children, while his wife was out shopping. Mrs Carling, on returning, found tho house locked up, and, being unable to gain: admittance, passed tho night at tho residence of a relative. Next morning tho house was forcibly entered, and the children were found—one dead and the other dying, and Carling 'with his throat out. Ho had evidently taken poison, but finding that insufficient, ho had cut his throat with a razor. Prior to committing the deed, ho had written (hreo letters, one of which was addressed to tho coroner, in which ho said ho had for several weeks suffered dreadfully from pains in tho head, and In's desire was to put,an. end to his painful existence. The jury found that lie had murdered his children, and thou committed suicide.
