Three of the yachts were capsized and sank. The crew of one swam ashore, but two of the crew belonging to the -yacht Alelf, h|ing| Burton gbx&ia&hnfb&rit wcrefCdrawnel. kj&t Jn supposed that they were carried away by the strong current. In the yacht Vagabond, one of the three capsized, all were good;f wiipmjrsf but Two of his companions proffered him help, which he declined saying he was all right and could reach the shore, but he did not do so, and the body was recovered on the beach at Stradbrooke Island, miles from the scene of the accident.
