MR. FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wednesday, April 4. A limited number of stock have come forward during the past fortnight. The yards at Kakaramea and Manaia were nearly empty on the sale days. At St Hill-street to-day the sheep pens were fairly well filled, but cattle were in small numbers. Sheep did not quite maintain last sales’ values, and there is no alteiation in the quotation for c&ttlc* Cattle —Fat cows, £4 15s to £5 15s ; store steers, £4 ss. SHEEP— About 1580 head were yarded to-day. Fat sheep, from Ids 9d to lls Gd, according to weight; store ewes, 7s 5d to 8s 6d; good wethers, half-fatted, 9s Id to 9s 6d. Pigs sold well —Good porkers, 26s 6d to 33s 6d; bacon pigs, 41s to 42s 6d ; stores, 14s 6d to 15s 6d.
Horses—About the usual number came forward. Draught horses, from £lB 10s to £24 ; backs at late values. Exports— 2s cattle, 250 sheep, 50 horses.
